Scandinavian Culture in Medieval Poland

Występowanie elementów kultury skandynawskiej w dorzeczach Wisły, Odry i Warty jest jednym z bardziej kontrowersyjnych problemów badawczych polskiej mediewistyki. Początkowo dyskusja prowadzona była tylko w gronie historyków. Ich uwaga była skupiona głównie na rozważaniach na temat tajemniczego dokumentu Dagome iudex (P. Boroń w tym tomie), a z czasem także nad interpretacją źródeł pisanych wywodzących się głównie z tradycji staroskandynawskiej. Odkrycia archeologiczne, których liczba systematycznie rosła spowodowały, że także przedstawiciele tej dyscypliny nauki stali coraz bardziej aktywni w toczonej dyskusji.
